Regular wellness visits are the foundation of lifelong health. During these appointments, we perform thorough physical exams, administer vaccinations, screen for parasites, and discuss nutrition and daily care. These visits give us a chance to catch concerns early and give you space to ask questions about any changes you are noticing at home.

When your pet is not feeling their best, we use a combination of internal medicine skills and diagnostic tools to investigate the cause. Our in house laboratory, parasitology testing, radiology, and ultrasound help us evaluate the heart, lungs, abdomen, and many internal organs. With this information, we can design a treatment plan that is appropriate for your pet and workable for your family.

Oral health, surgical care, and comfort all go hand in hand. We examine your pet’s mouth at routine visits and recommend professional dental cleanings and treatment when needed to address bad breath, gum disease, and tooth loss. Our doctors perform a variety of soft tissue and other procedures, supported by pre anesthetic testing, attentive monitoring, and a clean, well maintained surgical environment. Pain management is part of every plan so that pets with arthritis, injuries, infections, or chronic illness can stay as comfortable as possible.

Our Veterinarians want to insure your pets are prescribed the proper medication and prescription diets. Our in-house pharmacy has a variety of prescription foods and medications readily available for our clients. This allows your pet to get started on his/her medication or food right away.

We have clean and well maintained kennels to keep your pets safe and sound. Our staff check in on your pets to keep their kennels clean, food & water fresh and full to their needs. If your pet needs medical attention during the stay, one of our doctors can evaluate and treat as necessary.  You can feel secure knowing that your pet is receiving the best care possible.   Feel free to request any services when you call to make your reservation.

Our grooming services are provided by an experienced certified groomer. Grooming can also be added on to the end of a boarding stay. Call us for more information and to set an appointment.

At the Swansea Veterinary Center we are able to provide house calls or in-house services for large animals by appointment. Feel free to contact us for all our large animal services. We will work with you to provide your animals the best veterinary care possible.

Swansea Veterinary Center recommends that all pets be micro-chipped. Each year, thousands of pets go missing, and many don’t make it back home. Your pet needs a form of identification that is reliable and can’t get lost, stolen, or damaged. A microchip is a safe, simple form of identification that can significantly increase the chance that your pet will return safely.
